“I am just a very average American with a degree in Business and two degrees in Bible. I am in no way an expert on economics, but I believe our nearing 40 trillion-dollar national debt is not only super concerning but will be one day be destructive if not addressed with honesty and not denial, sacrifice and not entitlement, self-control and not thinking more government is the answer to our problems.

My Opinion after reading 1 Kings:

1. Sooner or later, if National leaders keep giving money out as candy, we will be doomed as a nation.
2. If people keep asking for the candy, most leaders will keep giving it out.
3. There is little fiscal sanity anymore.
4. “the borrower is servant to the lender.” Proverbs 22:7
5. The root cause of the problem is a character/spiritual problem that requires a spiritual solution. We are addicted to free stuff that we are unwilling to pay for.

Listen to the warning from historian and professor Alexander Tyler in 1787:

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse [generous gifts] from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: Bondage to Spiritual Faith —-> Spiritual Faith to Great Courage —-> Courage to Liberty —-> Liberty to Abundance —-> Abundance to Complacency —-> Complacency to Apathy —-> Apathy to Dependence —-> and Dependence back into Bondage.”

Are we being led into National financial bondage?

Proverbs 4:7: “The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost you all you have, get wisdom.”

My comments below:

Please take note. As Mr. Sprague points out above, a crashing economy could very well be one of the triggers that brings the anti-christ to power. He will have the answers the world will seek! Unfortunately, one of his (and his “partner” the False Prophet) solutions in the face of a global economy catastrophe will be to replace the dollar, the euro, the yen, etc. with a global currency which will replace all others. Of course, at that time implementing a mark so ALL transaction can be monitored will bring in the Mark of the Beast system. People will welcome that because they will once again have the financial stability they once had. But please remember!! IF you take the Mark, you will be doomed to spend eternity in hell. Take comfort in knowing God does not want a single one of us to perish in hell! That is why He gave us the prophecies so we would know what to expect. By understanding this and accepting we are all sinners and doomed to hell, He sent Jesus Christ as the sacrifice for our sins. Acknowledge we are all sinners and ask for His forgiveness, He will forgive your sins, and you will spend eternity with Him in Heaven! He wants us to spread His message and that is why Jesus told us all to “…therefore comfort one another with these words.”
