“If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, EVEN THE WORDS OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST (capitals mine), and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife railings evil surmisings. Perverse disputing of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: FROM SUCH WITHDRAW THYSELF (capitals mine).”
1 Timothy 6:3-5
The Bible is Holy. The Words of Jesus Christ our Lord are Holy. The question we all need to ask, and study is “Which Bible is Holy?”
“He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”
Daniel 3:25 (KJV)
If you read Daniel 3, you will see where the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar built a mighty statue of himself that he declared must be worshipped by all. If you failed to honor him, you would be put to death in a fiery furnace. Since many of the people resented that Daniel and three of his Jewish friends held much influence over the king, they demanded by his decree, they should be put to death. Daniel was not accused by these folks. But, when Daniel’s friends Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego refused to comply with his decree, the three of them were cast alive into the fire. But guess what? In his anger Nebuchadnezzar instructed the guards to increase the heat by 7X so that even the guards themselves were consumed by the heat when they threw the three into the fire. Yet, after this happened it was Nebuchadnezzar himself who saw 4, not 3 walking about in the flames unharmed. He then ordered the three to come out of the flames. They were not touched by the fire, and he declared their God to be the God to be worshipped. Anyone who did not was to be cut to pieces!
Why is this important to us today? As I previously wrote about in Don’t Let Your Bible Deceive You! the various translations of the Bible can be very deceptive. By reading the above Scripture from Daniel 3:25 in OTHER than the King James Version or the New King James Version, you can easily see the subtle, misleading translations of the newer Bibles:
“…and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”
Daniel 3:25 (NKJV)
But, notice the differences in all the other translations!!!
“…and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.’
Daniel 3:25 (NIV)
“And the fourth looks like a god.”
Daniel 3:25 (NLT)
“…and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods.”
Daniel 3:25 (ESV)
“…and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods.”
Daniel 3:25 (NASB)
“…and the aspect of the fourth is like a son of the gods.”
Daniel 3:25 (ASV)
Hopefully you see the glaring comparison and differences. Only the KJV and NKJV refer to the fourth being in the fire as “like the Son of God”. Notice in these two Bibles they have been translated with capitals Son of God (SINGULAR)!! In all other versions He is referred to as being “like a son of the gods (PLURAL)!! And neither “son” nor “god(s)” is capitalized. How many gods are there in Christianity? I only know and only believe in THE ONE God.
When you dig deeper and look at the published dates of all popular Bibles today, you may be stunned the KJV was printed in 1611 A.D. It was republished as the RKJV in 1885 A.D. and the NKJV in 1982 to make them easier to read in today’s English language. Every other printed version of the Bible came out AFTER 1901 A.D. with the vast majority published since 1971 A.D. Interestingly, these newer versions are the result of the 1881 publication of the Brooke Foss Westcott and John Anthony Hort’s Greek New Testament. I encourage you to check it out. The basis for these newer versions is heavily influenced by the heretical view of these two individuals who did not believe in a literal heaven; a second coming of Jesus Christ; the reality of angels; they denied the Oneness of the Trinity; and, they did not believe in a literal Devil. Below are the dates these various Bible versions were published.
- KJV – 1611 A.D.
- RKJV – 1885 A.D.
- NKJV – 1982 A.D.
- NIV – 1973 A.D.
- ASV – 1901 A.D.
- NASB – 1971 A.D.
- NLT – 1996 A.D.
- ESV – 2001 A.D.
So, why is this important? In Revelation 2 & 3 John is told by Jesus to write what was, what is and what shall be (in the future). John wrote to 7 of the churches he had founded in Asia Minor praising and rebuking them for their good and bad teachings. Bible scholars over the years have taken these 7 churches and drawn the literal “church age” history from them. The only church Jesus had nothing good to say about was the last church, the Laodicean church, and He condemned them for their false teachings.
“Take heed that no man may deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; AND SHALL DECEIVE MANY (capitals mine). And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. For there shall arise false christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
Matthew 24:4-5, 11, 24
OK, I get it. You may think the KJV, or the NKJV, were written so long ago they use words which makes the Bible difficult to read and understand. I get it! But the oldest Bible which God Himself gave to us hundreds of years ago and which has been preached throughout the world (during the Philadelphia evangelical church age which Jesus praised) cannot simply be thrown out to use newer versions which insert false and dangerous words or totally eliminate what Jesus actually said.
If you use other Bibles, other than the KJV or the NKJV, I challenge you to respond and tell me what your Bible says in the following verses:
- Matthew 17:21 (left blank) *** words spoken directly by Jesus!!!
- Matthew 18:11 (left blank) *** words spoken directly by Jesus!!!
- Matthew 23:14 (left blank) *** words spoken directly by Jesus!!!
- Mark 7:6 (left blank) *** words spoken directly by Jesus!!!
- Mark 9:44 (left blank) *** words spoken directly by Jesus!!!
- Mark 11:26 (left blank) *** words spoken directly by Jesus!!!
- Mark 15:28 (left blank)
- Luke 17:36 (left blank) *** words spoken directly by Jesus!!!
- Luke 23:17 (left blank)
- John 5:4 (left blank)
- Acts 8:37 (left blank)
- Acts 15:34 (left blank)
- Acts 24:7 (left blank)
- Acts 28:29 (left blank)
- Romans 13:9 (left blank in NIT, NASV, NWT)
- Romans 16:24 (left blank)
Surprised? I sure was when I saw this. Not only do these newer versions influenced by the writing of two heretics totally erase the words in the Bible and did not translate into a more modern language, but they also TOTALLY erased the very words spoken by Jesus in the Gospels!
Please explain to me why Jesus did come to earth if you use the NIV, not the KJV, the following verses from Luke 9:56 and Matthew 18:11:
- KJV – “For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.”
- NIV – “…and they went to another village.”
- KJV – “For the Son of man is come to save that which is lost.”
- NIV – (MISSING)
Want more? Check out KJV vs. NIT, NASB, NWT for Colossians 1:14, 1 Timothy 3:16, 1 Timothy 6:5, 1 Peter 1:22, 1 John 4:3 and Revelation 5:14 and you will see phrases FROM the KJV that have been left out!
- “…through his blood.”
- “God was manifest…”
- “…from such withdraw thyself”
- “…through the Spirit.”
- “Christ is come in the flesh…”
- “…him that liveth for ever and ever.”
How about one last example? Did you know the word Lucifer (aka the Devil, Satan, etc.) is in the KJV BUT NOT in the ESV, NASB, ISV and NIV? Check out Isaiah 14:12 (“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations.”) and, again, let me know what you find if you use one of these other “versions” of the Bible.
Don’t get me wrong. I believe the Holy Spirit is with us for a reason. He will help us to better understand the Word of God, but we must be aware what we are reading. If there are disparities we must search and ask Him for the answers. If we do, He will help us to find the Truth. But we must read the Bible and understand why there are so many versions and why the newer ones do not teach what the Bible originally told us. Is that because the old Bible was wrong and the new Bible is right? Check out the history of the publication of the Bibles and insert them into the history of the Church Age and I believe you will see how the Laodicean Church, the only one of the seven that Jesus rebuked and had nothing good to say about, in Revelation 3:14-22 has NOW come into existence. There is no question many of today’s “Christian” churches meet these criteria. For more info on the Church age, you may want to read one of my posts on this matter Have You Ever Attended a Laodicean Church? Hopefully, you never will!!
All of this is not to scare you but to make you aware. Jesus warned us in Matthew 24, “Take heed that no man deceive you.” He said this knowing full well there would be an attempt in the Last Days to mislead many. The easiest way for Satan to accomplish this is to change or eliminate key Words or Truths from the Bible. Once we have become aware of this it is imperative we do exactly what Jesus instructed us to do and that is to “…therefore comfort one another with these words.” His Words alone can give us that comfort.
May God Bless you as you seek the Truth through the Holy Spirit!
