“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the traditions of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:”
Colossians 2:8-10
The Democratic National Convention is now behind us. The Republican National Convention in now behind us. Whether you are a Liberal, Moderate or Conservative, both parties have now nominated candidates who they feel will be best to take their party platforms successfully to the American people. And now in just a few weeks the people of America will vote, either in person, by mail-in voting or by absentee voting. They will vote for the candidate they strongly feel will do the most to satisfy their own personal needs and desires. They may only vote for who they personally like or who they dislike. Unfortunately, the ONLY one who can actually fill our hearts with peace, hope, love and grace is NOT officially on this ballot except how voters perceive if their candidate can ultimately match His power in achieving Peace and Righteousness for us. Of course, while His name is NOT on the ballot His Commandments and Law are. If you didn’t know the candidate I am speaking of, His name is Jesus Christ! And, how we should vote is very clearly laid out for us in the Holy Bible as we are told what is good and what is not good in God’s eyes. A couple of years ago I wrote Who Did Jesus Say You Should Have Voted For? and believe what I said then is just as relevant today.
“And I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”
Genesis 12:3
God gave Abraham and his descendants the Jews an eternal Blessing. He also gave them sovereignty forever over the Land of Israel and the City of Jerusalem where He said He would put His name. He has been very clear that anyone who blesses the Jews and Israel will be Blessed and anyone who curses them will be Cursed by God Himself. Just look at all of recorded history and what has happened to every single nation/people that have cursed or attacked the Jews and Israel. Without exception, every single one of them has been destroyed/cursed. The most powerful, benign country in the history of the world, the United States of America, is also the only country up to this time that has given shelter, embraced and have protected the Jews from their enemies. Just look at the tremendous Blessings the U.S. have received since the end of World War II and the refounding of the modern day Nation of Israel. Continued support for Israel and the Jews is critical for our continuing Blessing.
“These six things doth the Lord hate: yea seven are an abomination (sin) unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,”
Proverbs 6:16-17
Knowing all men are born sinful, the only ones with “…innocent blood” would automatically imply the unborn children who have yet been confronted with sin. Have you ever noticed how many politicians claim because of their religion and faith they are pro-life yet always vote to support abortion? If that is accurate, how would you personally respond to Jesus if He asked you if you support abortion? Would you say it is a woman’s right to choose to abort a baby who has been given life directly by God Himself? He clearly tells us the shedding the blood of an innocent child is an abomination or sin to Him. Man or woman, promoting or condoning this sin is the same as doing it. For that we will be held accountable UNLESS we repent of our sins and ask Jesus to forgive us. With repentance we then cannot continue to sin!
“The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.”
Proverbs 22:7
Please don’t get me wrong. We all have borrowed money to buy a new car or home. But, in doing so we have by definition also become beholden to the one who lends us the money. It is our responsibility to pay them back exactly as agreed to when we borrowed the money. But what about endless borrowing where there simply is no way to ever pay the lender back? At some point, if we continue to needlessly borrow, the lender owns the borrower. This means he owns the car or the home and now you must do whatever he says or he has every legal right to take his car and his home back and leave you without a mode of transportation or a place of dwelling. As both political parties have recently supported printing money that does not currently exist in an effort to ease the pain and suffering so many are feeling during this pandemic, we all are becoming more and more enslaved to the will of the lender, in this case the U.S. government. The government is “rich” and will “ruleth” over us, perhaps in a way none of us are expecting or even want. Only by paying off our debt and getting to a balanced budget can we reverse this course of action.
“For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.”
2 Thessalonians 3:10
As tough as this sounds, the fact remains God expects us all to work and not be lazy. Just as He said, He would provide for the Jews for 40 years in the wilderness or when He said just as He provided for the birds of the air He would also provide for us. What this does not say is that He will also provide for those who simply decide they will not work but instead let others take care of them. I believe this totally debunks the entire misleading theory of socialism which has been proven so true in so many countries around the world. As Christians we are asked to provide for the poor, the widows, etc. But, this is not what God is saying here. He is saying if you are capable of working you should so that you will be able to eat. Nowhere in the Bible does it say you don’t need to try to work because others will feed you.
“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”
Genesis 2:24
Over the history of the United States and throughout the entire world, regardless of religion or race, marriage was always defined as being between a man and a woman. Most members of both political parties recognized this Biblical premise until this generation. However, in just the past few decades same sex marriages became not only more public and condoned, but a few years ago was actually legalized in the U.S. by the Supreme Court. Unfortunately just because the Court said it was legitimate based on the U.S. Constitution, the Bible is clear that it is not. God even went on to say in Leviticus 18:22 “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind; it is abomination (sin).” Homosexuality is a sin to God and if you were asked by Him if it is okay for a man to lie with another man or a woman with another woman or for same sex couples to marry, how would you respond? I know what the Bible already told us and what we should support.
“Let us walk honestly as in the day: not in rioting and drunkedness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.”
Romans 13:13
Regardless of the current events going on around us in the streets of America, the Bible again clearly tells us to NOT riot or get drunk. Law and order is a primary principal of our country since its founding and doing anything that degenerates it is not condoned but is condemned by God. Whichever way we vote we should honor the laws of our land but we must always obey the Word of God first. He has given us a system whose purpose is to reward good and punish evil. But, what is so critical is to first and foremost understand we must ALWAYS live under the Law of God:
“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist SHALL RECEIVE TO THEMSELVES DAMNATION (capitals mine).”
Romans 13:1-2
I am sure regardless of our party affiliation we are all fed up with the state of the world today. I find it interesting that both parties say if the other party is elected the future of America will be dark and terrible. They want change, change from where we are today. We all want a better world even though we may differ substantially on what we think we are capable of changing to get there. The one area where we Christians should all be able to come together in agreement is in the singular belief that only Jesus Christ is finally capable of giving us the world of Peace and Righteousness which we all yearn for. That world will be here on this earth for 1,000 years after the Battle of Armageddon when Jesus Returns to reign from Jerusalem. Those of us who have asked for forgiveness and accepted Him as our Lord and Savior will be Raptured and will return with Him to reign WITH Him. Regardless of the world we currently live in, that world will be so much better, better than anything either party could ever imagine or implement. In the turmoil of today, this is so comforting knowing we can all vote for the best Candidate in the history of the universe AND what He stands for and has demanded of us! And we don’t even have to vote in person or mail in our ballots. We with humility simply must ask Jesus to forgive us of our sins and accept ONLY Him as our Lord and Savior. Help me to do what Jesus asked us all to do and that is to “…therefore comfort one another with these words.” Make sure you get out this election season and vote the Christian Party, exactly as Jesus wants you to so that you can hear Him say “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Get out and vote and may God Bless you with the Heavenly outcome you have asked for!
Outstanding
Thanks Gladys!
