“And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.”
Revelation 8:1-2
In the Book of Revelation we are told of those things which will happen during the Last Days, the various judgements which will devastate the world and all those who dwell upon the earth. They are the SEVEN SEALS, the SEVEN TRUMPETS and the SEVEN VIALS. Now, it is absolutely critical the blowing of these seven trumpets is not to be confused with the seven trumpets of the feasts of God outlined by God to Moses in the Old Testament Book of Leviticus. First, the seven trumpets of Judgement are listed in Revelation 8:6-21. Those seven trumpets of Judgement during the Tribulation are as follows:
- Hail, Fire & Blood (global calamity in which 1/3 of earth’s vegetation is burned up) Rev. 8:7
- Burning Mountain (this could be a nuclear war or giant asteroid striking the earth and killing 1/3 of all aquatic life) Rev. 8:8
- Star of Wormwood (this is a poisonous item that will pollute 1/3 of the fresh water) Rev. 8:10
- Sun Smitten (with this judgement the amount of light will be reduced, devastatingly affecting crops and our way of life) Rev. 8:12
- Plague of Locusts (opening of bottomless pit unleashes locusts/demons who will be given ability to hurt all without Seal of God) Rev. 9:1
- Plague of Horsemen (200 million man army from the East will be unleashed who will then kill 1/3 of mankind) Rev. 9:14
- Christ Rules (the good news? Jesus Returns at the 7th trumpet to reign on earth for 1,000 years) Rev. 10:7
However, long before the Book of Revelation was written and even before Jesus came to this world to die for our sins and offer us salvation from our sins if we only accept His Gift of pardon, Moses wrote the Book of Leviticus. He was instructed by God to explain things like the meaning of sacrifices and how to worship God. It teaches the nation of Israel, who had just escaped from Egypt, how to live in holiness, cleanliness and even what to eat to remain healthy. Perhaps just as important to us today, Believers awaiting the fulfillment of all Biblical prophecy, are the seven Jewish Feasts of God. While these holidays are still celebrated by the Jews, there is also an overlaying similarity to the Seven Trumpets in Revelation and are critical to watch during these Last Days.
“And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, EVEN THESE ARE MY FEASTS (capitals mine).”
Leviticus 23:1-2
God clearly told Moses to tell the “…children of Israel” there were to be certain “convocations” or feasts. God refers to them as Holy Feasts, ordained by God Himself. For example, this year Rosh Hashana, the FEAST OF TRUMPETS, will begin September 18, 2020 and ends September 20, 2020. Those feasts proclaimed by God to Moses, of which there are seven, are as follows:
- Passover (Pesach) (April 8-9, 2020)
- Feast of Unleavened Bread (April 8-15, 2020)
- Feast of Firstfruits (May 9-10, 2020)
- Feast of Weeks (Pentecost) (May 31, 2020)
- Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) (September 19, 2020)
- Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) (September 27-28, 2020)
- Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) (October 3-9, 2020)
“On the first day of the seventh month hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work. It is a day FOR YOU (capitals mine) to sound the trumpets.”
Numbers 29:1
The seventh month in the Jewish lunar calendar is the month of Tishiri which falls during our month of September. These Spring and Fall feasts all pertain to the Jewish planting, growing and harvesting of their food. During this month is when they receive their food Blessing from the Lord. Each of these feasts are to be marked with the blast of a trumpet except, the FEAST IOF TRUMPETS which has 100 Trumpet blasts. The last one is called the “last trump” by the Jews. But, do you notice a significant difference between the Trumpets of Leviticus and Revelation? In the Book of Revelation John describes not only the seven trumpets but WHO they were given to. “And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.” In the Book of Leviticus the seven trumpets were given to the Jews and they were instructed to blow them on their Feast days, “On the first day of the seventh month hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work. It is a day FOR YOU (capitals mine) to sound the trumpets.” In other words, the angels of God will blow the seven trumpets during the Tribulation as God unleashes His Wrath on an unrepentant world but the Jews blow their trumpets at the end of each of their seven feasts. This raises the question, which trumpet should we be listening for, the “last” trumpet of God’s Wrath or the “last” trumpet of the Feast of Trumpets?
“I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen, I tell you a mystery (the Rapture): We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the LAST TRUMPET (capitals mine). For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.”
1 Corinthians 15:50-52
Since many post-Tribulationists believe the “last” trumpet in Revelation is the one which heralds the coming Rapture, they believe the Rapture must occur when Jesus Christ Returns at Armageddon. However, since we know He will Return when the anti-christ’s time ruling the world is completed 1,260 AFTER the Abomination of Desolation and 7 years after the Peace Covenant with Israel is signed, we can know EXACTLY the day when Jesus will Return by simply observing these two prophetic events. Except:
“But of that day and hour no one knows (meaning the Rapture), neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Take heed, watch and pray; for you DO NOT KNOW (capitals mine) when the time is…”
Mark 13:32-33
I DO NOT KNOW when Jesus will Return EXCEPT through an in depth Bible study, I DO KNOW He will Return 1,260 days after the Abomination of Desolation and 7 years after the Peace Covenant is signed. If I am alive and on earth when that occurs then I will know exactly the day He will Return. But to His Believers, we will not be here having been Raptured so we don’t know when that will happen and we are told to “…take heed, watch and pray.” We know this because He told us so we would be prepared! Is it possible He will come for His Believers at the “last” trump of the Feast of Trumpets? I don’t know but also, I cannot rule it out as it seems to comply with what God has told us.
As I have said many times before, it is incumbent on all of us to be prepared for His Return. All we need to do is accept His Gift of Salvation and ask Him to forgive us of our sins. If we sincerely do this, then we won’t know when He will Return except when we see Him face-to-face in the clouds! This is so comforting with all the problems in this world, knowing what is soon coming will be a beautiful sound of a Trumpet saying, “Come up here!” If you agree and understand we all have the commandment to tell others, please “…therefore comfort one another with these words.” You can do this by sharing or liking this post, or by simply telling others of His Promise to His Believers.
May God Bless you until we hear the Trumpet calling us home to Jesus!
