As previously mentioned in other posts, the Holy Bible is filled with many, many prophecies; from God to Moses: to the prophets: to Jesus’s disciples; and, even from Jesus Himself, both on earth as well as after His resurrection. It is estimated that nearly 1/3 of the Bible is comprised of prophecies regarding judgements AND blessings that have already happened and to those things yet destined for our future. It is also believed the Bible has approximately 2,500 specific prophecies, with 2,000 already fulfilled and 500 yet to come. I believe most believers could probably name the very first prophecy given to Adam and Eve by God in the Garden of Eden:
“And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof shalt thou surely die.”
Genesis 2:16-17
Basically, God told man, “You have a free will to do what you want. But, I warn you if you eat of THAT tree, you will die!” Why is this a prophecy? Because God told Adam and Eve the consequence of their actions. He foretold their future IF they ate of that tree. Also, at this time it appears that there was no death on earth so Adam and Eve did not speed up their eventual death, they actually caused it to happen! How did this occur? Satan actually questioned the truth of God’s prophetic word when he said, “…Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” – Genesis 3:1. When Eve told Satan they would die if they ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, Satan replied, “And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die. For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” – Genesis 3:4-5. Of course we know they did eat the forbidden fruit, were thrown out of the Garden of Eden, and yes, eventually died as God had prophesied.
If that is the first prophecy in the Bible, what is the LAST prophecy? A hint for you. If the first prophecy is in the first book of the Bible (Genesis) it probably makes sense to then believe in a book filled with so many prophecies, the LAST prophecy must be in the LAST book of the Bible (Revelation). At the end of the last chapter of the last book in the Bible we read what Jesus Himself told John:
“For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the PROPHECY (capitals mine) of this book. If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this PROPHECY (capitals mine), God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”
Revelation 22:18-19
It is interesting that God has established the prophecies outlining His Words in the Book of Genesis and then reiterated that IF one were to add to His Word OR take away from His Word, they would die eternally by being “eliminated” from the Book of Life. As one that feels strongly and humbly compelled to pass along what the Bible says regarding the Last Days, it is incumbent on me to make sure I only reiterate what the Bible itself says. I take great comfort in two very specific scriptures that I believe vindicate my activity with this blog:
“But I have had God’s help to this day and so I stand here and testify to small and great alike that I am saying nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses said would happen.”
Acts 26:22
“Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by the presbytery. Mediate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all. Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.”
1 Timothy 4:13-16
Hopefully by now, I have properly communicated that the Holy Bible IS a book of prophecy which not only tells all of the things to come (to all peoples throughout history) but also validates and vindicates His Word so we can then rest assured that it is actually God truthfully speaking directly to US so we may be aware of all that He says. if we can agree on that, than the next step in our process is to examine why so many believing Christians today believe we are THE generation that will witness the rest of God’s prophecies coming to pass in OUR lifetimes. Yes, I know Christians for 2,000 years have believed Jesus’s return was imminent in their lifetimes but…
What is the ONE prophecy that HAD to happen before the End Times come that HAS now occurred?
There is absolutely NO DOUBT that the one thing that HAD to happen before the End Times prophesied in the Bible which HAS now happened is the rebirth of the Nation of Israel on May 14, 1948. Jesus Himself was very clear when asked by His disciples when He would return:
“Now learn a parable of the fig tree (the fig tree is symbolic of the nation of Israel): When the branch is still tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily, I say unto you, THIS GENERATION SHALL NOT PASS, TIL ALL THESE THINGS BE FULFILLED (capitals mine)”.
Matthew 24:32-34
Jesus in the Olivet Discourse was explaining the things that had to happen before His Second Coming and He specifically talks about a young Israel state that had to be here AND the generation that saw THAT occur WOULD NOT pass until all the things He mentioned had happened. Now, before we go further, it is imperative to describe the time and place of what Christ said and how does that mean WE are the generation that will witness those things of which He spoke. In approximately 33 A.D. he gave the Olivet Discourse, knowing His time on earth was limited. In 70 A.D. the Roman Titus defeated the Jews, took Jerusalem, destroyed the Second Holy Temple, killed many and sent the rest into slavery around the world. For almost 2,000 years the Jews were viewed as second class citizens and were unjustly persecuted. They did not have their own country! Much of this persecution culminated during the Second World War with Hitler attempting to eradicate the Jews from Europe. Over 6 million Jews (approximately 1/3 of the world’s Jewish population) were killed in this massacre. It has been documented the United States was aware of what Hitler was doing. The Vatican actually helped those responsible for doing this relocate to South America after the war. Most of the world knew what was happening and yet did nothing!
A mere three years after the defeat of the Germans in WWII the nation of Israel was reborn! Hallelujah! Think about that for a moment! A people that no one thought would ever be able to survive the Holocaust and yet not only came back into existence as a single people but created a nation in 3 years of only a few hundred thousand citizens. They were then able to stave off attacks from a number of Arab nations whose total population was over 100 million people! Not only did God “have the back” of His chosen people but as a result of the Nation of Israel being reborn, He set the timeline in motion for all the other things foretold to happen in the End Times. Since then Israel has become a very powerful nation of 8 million citizens (6.8 million Jews and 1.2 million Arabs) that against ALL odds continues to hold off attacks from those which surround her and want to eradicate her once and for all.
On May 14, 2018 Israel will celebrate her 70th year of existence. The number 70 in the Bible is very significant in that it is said to be the lifespan of a generation (“The days of our years are threescore years and ten (70); and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years (80); yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.” – Psalm 90:10). The other thing the number seventy stands for in the Bible is a sacred meaning that is made up of the factors of two perfect numbers, SEVEN (representing perfection) and TEN (representing completeness and God’s law). As such, it symbolizes perfect spiritual order carried out with all of God’s power. It can also represent a period of judgment as we see in the above scripture.
If you agree that no other group of people in the entire world over the past 2,000 years have witnessed the foretold rebirth of the Nation of Israel after only THREE years of almost being wiped out as a people and then repeatedly defeat invading armies of peoples that do not believe in God’s Promise to the Jews then you must agree that the generation alive today WILL witness those things prophesied by Jesus to happen MUST now occur. Those things are happening today with increasing frequency and will continue to get worse. Fortunately, if you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior and asked for forgiveness of your sins, WE will be Raptured away from this Tribulation to be with the Lord FOREVER. However, it is incumbent on all, not just me or a few others to make sure our friends and family know of this comfort so we can “…comfort one another with these words.”

It would be such a blessing to see this occurring very soon.
This was my favorite I think. So inspiring! It makes me feel honored to be like the Jews, outnumbered and hated by the world. Faithfully watching God’s promises manifest daily. Glory to God!
Yes, we are the generation that will witness the coming of our precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I continue to steadfastly look up waiting to see the face of Jesus and to listen for that beautiful sound of the trumpet of God with the command to come up hither. Maranatha and God Bless!
