God is laughing at us right now!

“Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, AGAINST THE LORD (capitals mine), and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.”

Psalm 2:1-4

Forget for a moment whether you voted for Biden or for Trump. The fact remains most people of this country today and throughout the entire world place their desire for peace and security with their elected officials. Whether you are a Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative, most honestly believe who they elect will make their country a better place. Their belief is that the President, working with the duly elected members of Congress, will pass laws that ensure their financial stability, enable social justice, or gives them the security of knowing they and their family are safe from wars, from pestilences, or from climate change that may end life on this planet as we know it.

The problem with these assumptions is that these same politicians, right or left, rarely take counsel or guidance from God but instead govern only in a way to ensure their reelection or personal gain. In a democracy they are required to pass legislation with a majority which Biblically says they will “…take counsel together”. When they pass these laws, if they do so against God and against what He has told us is righteous in the Bible, He laughs at us! Why? Because He is the One that put them in their place to begin with and knows exactly what they will give in exchange for ungodly laws! Just read what we are told in Daniel 2:21:

“And he (God) changeth the times and the seasons: HE REMOVETH KINGS, AND SETTETH UP KINGS (capitals mine): he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding.”

God Himself establishes, as part of His Plan for our world, a government which adheres to the desires of their people, the governed. God DOES NOT place bad people in office but rather gives us what we voted for. If you want to pay higher taxes for something you hope to gain, God will answer your prayers and desires. If you want peace and security AND you are part of the majority, you will get what you have asked and voted for. God laughs at us because we feel we can determine the outcome of our own lives and yet He has told us repeatedly how to live our lives according to His Word and what the punishment will be if we go against His Word.

“The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.”

Psalm 37:13

The day of reckoning is coming soon! I am sure you have often heard the statement, “How could a loving God cause so much pain and affliction on people?” God only gives us what we ask for when we go against His Word. Think back to the Garden of Eden. God DID NOT condemn Adam and Eve to death while they lived in the Garden. Rather, He told them they could eat of any tree EXCEPT the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil because if they did, they would surely die. Guess what? In their minds, after being deceived by Satan, they decided to go ahead and “vote” to eat the Forbidden fruit of the tree. They then payed the consequence by eventually dying exactly as God said they would IF they disobeyed His Holy Word.

“But thou, O Lord, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.”

Psalm 59:8

In other words, God laughs at us when we go against His Word even though He has told us numerous times what are the consequences of our sins. “The wages of sin are death!” I am sure God is in Heaven laughing, not because He sees it as funny because we have disobeyed His Word but because He has told us what will happen if we do and yet we continue to do it. We just ain’t all that smart!

“But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh a a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.”

Proverbs 1:24-26

He laughs when we DO NOT seek His Counsel. He laughs and mocks us when our self determined “calamity” happens. Interestingly, at the very first Presidential Inauguration on April 30th, 1789, George Washington said something we should all take note of. Remember the Founders of our nation wrote the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States with a clear eye on the warnings given to us by God and proclaimed regularly in our Judeo-Christian traditions.

“I dwell on this prospect with every satisfaction which an ardent love for my Country can inspire: since there is no truth more thoroughly established, than that there exists in the economy and course of nature, an indissoluble union between virtue and happiness, between duty and advantage, between the genuine maxims of an honest and magnanimous policy, and the solid rewards of public prosperity and felicity: Since we ought to be no less persuaded that the propitious smiles of Heaven, can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right, which Heaven itself has ordained: And since the preservation of the sacred fire of liberty, and the destiny of the Republican model of Government, are justly considered as deeply, perhaps as finally staked, on the experiment entrusted to the hands of the American people.”

In George Washington’s brilliance he said NO nation will receive the smiles or blessings of Heaven if we disregard those rules ordained by God. Failure to follow His laws will eventually have the same impact on us the original sin had on Adam and Eve. As a nation, we will die! Now don’t get me wrong. In the Scripture below we are told to “submit” ourselves to the kings, governors or Presidents that rule our land except when it goes against the will of God. If we do this as “…servants of God” we will be able to show them the foolishness of their laws. If as a nation, we fail to do that, God will laugh and our nation will pay the price.

“Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may silence the ignorance of foolish men: As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.”

1 Peter 2:13-16

As a Christian I am constantly reminded in watching the news that regardless of who occupies the White House, I am always subject to the laws of God. No nation on earth, even the United States of America, can even come close to the power of God. It is His Power and Glory that has ordained the way we should live. Failure to do that, even in tough times, ultimately the punishment will sit on each of our shoulders.

“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that are ordained of God.”

Romans 13:1

God wishes no ill on anyone but having given us freedom of choice and also having given us the knowledge of what will happen if we disobey His Law, He lets us make our own decisions because we will pay the price. When we know the difference between eternal life in Heaven versus eternal life in hell based on the choices we make, it is not so much laughing as being funny but rather laughing in disbelief someone would willfully make that decision of God over the deceptions of Satan. But in His Glory and Righteousness, He also sent His only Begotten Son Jesus Christ as the ultimate sacrifice as payment for our sins. If we accept that gift of pardon from Him by acknowledging Jesus as our Lord and Savior and accepting His Gift, we will spend eternity in Heaven with Him. As I have said so many times, we are all sinners but God has given us a way back to Him. That is so incredibly comforting to know no matter what good works we do, we cannot earn our way to Heaven BUT we can still make it there by simply repenting of our sins and accepting His Gift of Pardon.

We don’t have much time left to do this. If you haven’t, PLEASE do it right now! And, to make sure your loved friends and family also meet up with Jesus in the clouds when He Returns, do what we are all asked to do and that is to “…therefore comfort one another with these words.” Let’s all do this so we can experience eternal happiness with incredible laughter!

God Bless you!

Thank you for the encouragement, Mike. So glad I found you–pretty sure it was from a ‘sharer’ on Facebook. It’s so important the we edify each other in these perilous times. I read much more than I watch TV news (just the weather report, please) and find it mind-boggling that so many are incorporating other philosophies that are occultic into a belief system so far from biblical precepts but consider it “Christianity”. Looking up!! Keep up the good work, Brother!

I wholeheartedly agree with the vast majority of this post. It’s been saddening to see how many Christians have looked to the government rather than look to Christ. The result is that the name of Christ has been shamed because it appears to unbelievers that the way that “conservatives” act in many circumstances are a reflection of God.

However, I do disagree that God does not place bad kings or leaders. Throughout the old testament and new, when people had no vote and no direct choice in leaders, God allowed to be put in place leaders that either blessed the people based on their willingness to follow him or placed burdens on them and judgment by putting in place bad leaders.

We essentially “vote” with either following God or not but not in a political sense. A vote might be part of it, depending on where one lives but it is not the essential biblical principle.

I agree and thought that is exactly what I said. If we vote for a non-God fearing candidate, God will give us what we voted for.

Thanks for clarifying, Mike! I apologize if I misunderstood. I pray God blesses you for obeying Him in this important work.

I am in agreement. It seems that God has been taken out of our country.
